The information is gathered from club volunteers and is valid only at the time of their observation. Their observations may not meet your expectations and the conditions may vary from the time of posting. Conditions may vary with temperature, snow quality, type of terrain and usage. Please exercise caution at all times and be prepared for the unexpected. Remember that the trail is providing an off road experience that has inherent risks which demands constant rider preparedness, vigilance, caution, unimpaired reaction and smart choice.

#1 West Mancos
Two groomed loops totaling 40 miles with lots of non-groomed trails and meadows to play in.  From Windy Gap to Gold Run, any off-trail riding be prepared for Avalanches. Trailhead: Turn north at the stoplight in Mancos. Go approximately 3 blocks to County Road 42. Take Road 42 5.5 miles to the parking area.

Last groomed 3/19. Snow mat reports as of 4/13 - Mancos 32"; Sharkstooth 46"; Columbus Basin 69". Spring is here, expect lots of bare pavement and dirt past the lower gate. Club is done grooming for the season. Have a great summer and see you in the fall.
Other Information
4/3 Avalanche danger level 2 (moderate) above, at and below tree line. Ride Safe. County will no longer be plowing the parking area. Call Montezuma County Commissioner Gerald Koppenhafer (970) 749-0262 to voice your complaint. Club is done grooming for the season.

#2 Missionary Ridge-
Lots of meadows and old logging roads ungroomed riding.  Road riding for beginners.  Good riding up high for more advanced riders. Trailhead: From Durango take U.S. Highway 550 north to Trimble Lane. Turn east on Trimble Lane to County Road 250. Turn north on County Road 250 for 3.1 miles. Turn right on County Road 253 (Missionary Ridge Road) 1.7 miles to turnaround at Forrest Road 682 gate. Parking is fair.

#3 Purgatory-Bolam Pass- Barlow Creek
"Above average riders"  There are Avalanche Areas along this trail.  CAUTION IS ADVISED AS WELL AS BEACONS, PROBE POLES, & SHOVELS. Trailhead: Turn into the main entrance of Purgatory Ski Area. Go past first parking area and up to the next one on left (it slopes up to the resort). Unload at Snowmobile Rental Shack. Park at lower area.

#4 Lemon Res- Miller Mtn Rd
Great for riders of all abilities.  Some off trail play areas. Trailhead: From Durango take Road 240 (also known as Florida Road) east to County Road 243. Turn north on County Road 243. Drive to the end of the road and park in the gravel pit.

#5 Vallecito- Middle Mtn Rd
East ride.  Lots of ungroomed Forest Service roads and some meadows for playing in. Trailhead: Follow 501 around the North end of the reservoir. Turnoff for Forest Road 724, Middle Mountain Rd. Parking area is on the left.

#7 Echo Basin
Easy big loop with lots of ungroomed trails and meadows to play in. More advanced areas are around the back side of Burnt Ridge. Trailhead: From Mancos, take Hwy 160 2.5 miles east to Road 44. Turn north on County Road 44 and continue about 3.5 miles to parking.
