RABBIT EARS PARKING SCOPING DOCUMENTS RELEASED
Many of you have experienced the frustrations of finding adequate and safe parking when visiting Rabbit Ears and Buffalo Pass.  The Hahns Peak/Bear's Ear District has released scoping documents to gather input and feedback to improve the parking on Rabbit Ears Pass.  Please find links to the RABBIT EARS PARKING SCOPING LETTER and accompanying MAP.  Comments are due on February 1, 2013. It is important that we offer very legitimate, viable and reasonable suggestions/solutions to the parking dilemma.  More parking and better parking are certainly legitimate suggestions but please try to provide workable details. Remember this is about parking, not about previous decisions.  We need to work within the framework that is currently on the ground, please don't revisit the past.  Be creative, think out of the box and don't procrastinate.

JOIN THE EFFORT OF 14 MOTORIZED REC GROUPS IN A LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Right after the November 6th election, a group of non-motorized recreation group and outdoor-related businesses urged President Obama to use his power to designate 1.4 million acres of public land in Utah as a National Monument.  In response, 14 national organizations representing responsible motorized recreation sent a letter to the President.  Please read the letter by clicking https://secure3.convio.net/arra/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&page=UserAction&id=409&JServSessionIdr004=nl4e5d7n82.app332a and then join this action by sending the President a letter opposing this and other massive, inappropriate designations of National Monuments.  It's quick and easy.  As many of you may already know a similar action has already occurred in southern Colorado when the President designated Chimney Rock, between Pagosa Springs and Durango as a National Monument without Congressional designation.  So, we know that this very thing can happen so please let your voice be heard to keep this from happening in other areas.
