The town of Grand Lake and Grand Lake Trailgrooming is very excited to be hosting the Colorado Snowmobile Association (CSA) 2018 Winter Convention.  A weekend of beautiful snowmobiling awaits, with our local Trail Hosts ensuring a great time for various ability levels.  Some of our great restaurants around Grand Lake will help to provide food and libations while not riding.  We look forward to seeing you in January for an incredible weekend in Grand Lake!

Welcome to Grand Lake, the Snowmobile Capital of Colorado!  Our little town is small and snowmobile friendly.  All of the locations below for CSA events, as well as all lodging listed on the registration form, are snowmobile accessible.  Riding from Grand Lake runs through a small section of Rocky Mountain National Park to access the North Supply Forest Service trailhead, and from there you can get to our entire system, and even on into the town of Gould.  You can unload from your trailer/ truck on Friday and not have to load again until you decide to leave (some may stay for a while!)       


Schedule of Events


Friday, January 19:     10:00 am- snowmobile ride, meet at the Gateway Inn for an introduction to The Grand Lake trail system with our trail hosts.


                                    6pm-9pm- Gateway Inn check-in with finger food and cashBar.  Pick up your welcome bags with ID badges, maps of town,                                                parking areas and trails, along with a riding schedule.


Saturday, January 20: 7AM-9AM- Breakfast burritos (on the go, if you like), with coffee and fruit plate at the Grand Lake Community Center.


                                    9:30AM- Snowmobile rides on our trail system for a variety of rider abilities.  We will have one large loop trail ride of                                                            approx. 60 miles around the Kauffman Creek loop. Riders will meet at the Gateway Inn to meet with our trail hosts for a                                                     great day on the mountain.


                                    2PM-5PM- For those interested, we’ll have snowmobile ride to our grooming facilities.  Meet at the Gateway Inn for a short                                               ride to our grooming facilities.  We’ll have all our snowcats and implements on display as well as an open house of the                                                    groomer shed.  We may also schedule a morning ride with the facilities ride attached.


                                    6PM-8PM- Poncho and Lefty’s for the Mexican buffet dinner and cash bar with margaritas on tap.  Live music will begin                                                   after dinner in the lakeside room at Poncho and Lefty’s.


Sunday, January 21st: 7AM-9AM(?)- Breakfast buffet and board meeting at the Sagebrush BBQ and Grill in Grand Lake. 


                                    9AM-10AM (start): Snowmobile rides following the meeting.  Meet up at the Gateway Inn for some great Sunday riding.                                                  Alternatively, feel free to explore the mountain on your own!
